Our Team

Stephen Hardis is the Nonexecutive Chairman of Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eaton Corporation.  Mr. Hardis began his career with Eaton in 1979 as Executive Vice President-Finance and Administration, was elected to the Eaton Board of Directors in 1983, became Vice Chairman and Chief Finance and Administrative Officer in 1986, was elected Chief Executive Officer in 1995, and served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman from 1996 to 2000.  Prior to joining Eaton, Mr. Hardis was Executive Vice President of Finance and Planning with the Sybron Corporation, and before that was with General Dynamics Corporation.  Mr. Hardis graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Cornell University, and received a master's degree in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University.  Mr. Hardis is a director of Axcelis Technologies Inc., American Greetings Corporation, Lexmark Corporation, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc., Nordson Corporation, Progressive Corporation, and STERIS Corporation.  He is also a board member of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
